Job Description

Working hours: 50 hours, Monday to Friday, 7am-5pm, Saturday availability, 7am-12pm

HGV Technician required to work with J Mould Reading and the extraordinary team in our state of the art new workshop that maintains our fleet.

Responsibilities:
- Perform minor and major repairs on lorries and trailers
- Conduct regular preventative maintenance on service lorries, including inspection, tyre rotation and oil changes
- Maintain parts inventory and cleanliness in the shop
- Collaborate with repair team to diagnose problems with vehicles and plan repairs
- Perform regular diagnostic tests on trucks
- Maintain accurate records of each repair performed

Requirements:
- Class 1 and/or 2 HGV Licence preferred.
- Possession of relevant certifications or qualifications, such as NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent.
- Proficiency in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy goods vehicles, uncluding engines, transmissions, braking systems, and electrical components.
- Previous experience working as a mechanic, preferably specialising in HGVs, with a strong understanding of the engines and hydraulic systems.
- Strict adherence to health and safety regulations to minimise risks and maintain a safe working environment.
- Clear communication with colleagues and clients to explain repair procesures, provide updates, and answer questions.
