Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Hydraulic Hose Pipe Fitter to join our team in Reading. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining hydraulic hose systems on plant machinery and equipment used in demolition, recycling, and construction operations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Install, replace, and repaid hydraulic hose assemblies on heavy machinery and plant equipment.
- Inspect hoses and fittings for signs of wear, leakage, or damage.
- Cut, crimp, and assemble hoses to specification using appropriate tools and machines.
- Diagnose hydraulic faults and assist in troubleshooting equipment issues.
- Ensure all hydraulic systems meet safety and performance standards.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, parts used, and service logs.
- Follow all health and safety regulations and site rules at all times.
- Work closely with maintenance teams and machine operators to minimise downtime.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of hose fitting area, tools, and stock.

Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a hydraulic hose fitter or similar mechanical fitting role.
- Strong understanding of hydraulic systems, fittings, and fluid power principles.
- Ability to read technical drawings and follow manufacture specifications.
- Competent in the use of hydraulic hose assembly equipment (cutting, crimping, pressure testing).
- Basic welding/fabrications skills (desirable)
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (preferred but not essential).
- Full UK driving licence (essential).

Working Conditions:
- Site and workshop-based work in an industrial/demolition environment.
- Some outdoor work in varying weather conditions.

Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 5:00pm - occasional out-of-hours or weekend work may be required.
